This is CDR - Embedding CDR: Unlocking Scale Through Industrial Integration with Cara Maesano, PhD.
Tuesday, July 1, 12pm EST

Scaling carbon dioxide removal (CDR) requires more than standalone innovation—it demands integration. Embedding CDR into the supply chains and infrastructure of today’s industries can accelerate deployment, reduce costs, and unlock powerful value-adds for sectors like construction, energy, and manufacturing.
Join us for a conversation with Cara Maesano, a leading CDR policy and science analyst and lead author of RMI’s Applied Innovation Roadmap for CDR, one of the most comprehensive technical assessments of carbon removal to date. We’ll explore how strategically integrating CDR into industrial systems can transform it from a niche solution into a mainstream climate tool—and why these intersections are essential to meeting climate goals at speed and scale.
About our Guest
Cara Maesano, PhD is a leading analyst at the intersection of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) science and policy. With a background in environmental health science and a PhD from Sorbonne Université, her published research has spanned carbon removal, air pollution and public health. In 2023 she served as a key contributor to RMI’s Applied Innovation Roadmap for CDR, helping to shape one of the most comprehensive assessments to date of technical pathways for large-scale carbon removal. Cara’s work focuses on embedding CDR in real-world systems—bridging scientific insight, industrial application, and strategic planning to accelerate climate solutions at scale.
