Come on Illinois, let's make the CCURRB Act LAW in 2024!

This legislation will drive decarbonization and carbon utilization in concrete in Illinois. Help us make it law!

Right now OpenAir members in Illinois are advocating for the ‘CCURRB’ Act (HB5461) in the state legislature. As law, it would create an incentive for in state concrete producers who deliver super low carbon concrete for state funded projects. It also includes an extra incentive for concrete that contains and permanently stores CO2 sourced from the air.

We have until May 26th to get CCURRB included in this year’s state budget and this will not happen without DIRECT CITIZEN OUTREACH TO KEY LEGISLATORS IN THE STATE. AND WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN!

Here are 3 high impact actions that Illinoisans can take right now to take part in our campaign:

Time: 5 mins

Post our campaign image declaring your support for HB5461 on social media. Tag your state representative, state senator, and other key legislators to make sure they know it. Click on the button above to access a simple tool to help guide you through these steps.

Time: 10 mins

OpenAir’s Mobilizer tool makes it very easy for you to identify your state legislators, look up their office phone number, and deliver a quick phone call in support of HB5461. With enough calls coming in, our legislation will gain priority. Click on the button above to access the tool.

Time: 30 mins

One of the most impactful ways to influence HB5461’s success is to join other residents in your district for a short zoom meeting with your state representative and/or state senator to explain the bill and why they should support it. OpenAir is organizing citizen lobbying sessions with Illinois state legislators throughout May. The more folks we have join these calls the more impact we will have. Just click the button above to fill out a very short form to let us know you are interested in taking part, and we will get right back to you.
